What is MVspy?

What is this thing MVspy?

Well unlike a lot of other user content sites that let content developers put up content to share, our mission is simple. Let the world pick what gets on TV!

The way the site works is that people who have videos can sign up and post them on the site. We do go through an approval process (we can't put things onto TV that might violate copyrights, have profanity or nudity). Once a video is approved it appears on the site.

Then viewers visit the site and can vote for videos. Every month we take the top 20 scoring videos and put them on Comcast VOD channel 1 (MVspy!). It is that simple. We have the clearest way for video creators to get their music onto TV.

Are there any catches? Not really - as a video owner, you would really want to promote the video. We use a scoring system that is based on votes. People who register and sign in count a lot more than people who just visit and vote. Also we allow people to vote once per day. How hard is it to win?

Let's do the math- The overall winner last month, Elijah Bossenbroek, got about 300 points in a month. Each registered user counts as a point. So if one person votes every day it would be 30 points in a month. That means that it only takes 10 registered voters coming back every day to get to the top.

Since this is our first blog post, we'll leave it at that for now. We will be back every week highlighting great videos and talking about new features and what is going on at MVspy. We hope to hear from our audience on suggestions, rants, raves and anything else that may be on your mind.

Signing out,
