Changes afoot

we're pausing the pure "vote to get on TV" program for now and working on a better way to help deserving new bands get a break on TV. We hoped that voting would help great undiscovered bands percolate to the top but gaming a voting system proved too easy... To insure interesting talent get on air and provide a good viewing experience we're going to make voting one component of how videos are chosen. Big changes are coming here this month!

Great. I would like to see some changes. Also I don’t think people understand really how to vote for the videos. I have many fans asking where the button is "put this on TV," funny but its true.
I would like to give out a "Thank you for Blanking this up." you know who you are. All I can say is wow you didn’t think they would notice you were cheating when your views per votes was better then 60%. Mmm I wonder if they where also padding other artist views to drop their score.
Anyway thank you mvspy for what you guys have started I hope you continue on with this site and support the unsigned artists that helped get you started.

I agre with Devlynmurphy, our fans sometimes had the same problem. I found this funny as he does, but it really happened (maybe cause many of them are not english speaking people).

I have a question: can we somehow know how many TV passages we had with the past months winning videos? Or at least if we had any (I'm not sure if you mean, with the changes, you would remove past winners).

Great Idea You System is Corrupt and doesn't actually tally Votes anyway so you should change it as it is patently unfair and unethical. You shut down people who ask you for assistance and don't care about anything other than your own self-serving issues. I've voted over 30 times for one group and only 2 votes have registered. Yet the counter continually shows there was a hit but it doesn't register the vote.

I've brought this to your attention but you blew me off. You have chosen to do nothing to address the issue. But the Federal Communication Commission may have another concept of what is legal and what isn't when it comes to your responsiblity to follow through with your verbal contract. I have notified technical and Jim Pavolick who is the owner of this domain numerous times and have been shut down and shut out of the voting for SLEEPTHIEF to be viewed by 11 million television viewers.

I hope your next scam is better than this last one where I wonder if this is just a ruse to get email addresses for selling them to marketers.....It must be something other than actually caring about what people think about because your scene is rigged!

Having read the other two comments there seems to be a some parallels here about padding and alleged corruption....where there is smoke there is fire....

Don't you think it odd I can voice my opinion but can't vote for my favorite video?

We've put hundreds of unknown artists on air in millions of U.S. homes since we started MVspy. We've aired all of of Devlin Murphy's winning videos (we're fans, by the way) and all of the winning Wimhurst shows.

As you may be aware, popular TV shows only let you vote for a handful of pre-selected artists. We wanted to try to see if fully opening the opportunity to get on TV to all comers would take off and make watchable television too. Some of the stuff was great and some VERY homemade stuff made it onto TV in the process. MVspy was a labor of love to explore where TV is headed - not a business.

And Cammie/dancing raven - No one has been shut out of voting. Why would a voting site want to shut a voter out? Are their opinions too daring and untraditional perhaps? Plus, as you can see from your video page: admin (yeah, that's us) voted for your band more than you did! The numbers just don't always change in real time. As of this writing your band has 1378 votes. That's impressive for a band from Maui.

In any case - this was a media experiment to try to give unsigned artists their own TV outlet. We thought it was a cool idea... some artists were truly grateful and thrilled seeing their stuff on TV for the first time.

It's all tempest in a teapot. MVspy goes off air on sept 4 and we're shutting this site down on that day as well.

From the notes above that will be good news to some of you.

Many of the videos submitted here will have another shot at getting tv exposure. Dozens have been contacted by outside producers for an irreverent new puppet based music variety show created by some folks originally involved with the cartoon Renn and Stimpy.
